The QuadSharp and the C-Sharp are two very similar products. At first glance, it may seem as if they are the same product. They both have 4 different angles to choose from, both have a benchstone for polishing or for serrations, and both are compatible with all Lansky Controlled-Angle Systems.

The difference between the two, however, is that aside from the color (the QuadSharp is blue and the C-Sharp is orange), the QuadSharp has carbide inserts and the C-Sharp has ceramic. Why does this matter? Well, how you use your knife, and maybe even how you feel about your knife, will determine which one is a better fit.

Because carbide is a more aggressive material, you’ll want to use the QuadSharp if you need to set an angle on an extremely dull blade, or if you want something that will sharpen your blade very quickly.  The QuadSharp is great for hardworking, everyday carry knives.

However, if you’re looking for something that will maintain your angle, but is a little gentler on your knife, the C-Sharp is the way to go. The 600 grit medium ceramic pull-through slots will get your edge where you want it, but it will take a little longer, as it will be kinder to your blade. This is important if you have very expensive knives, or just have a favorite knife that you don’t want to use aggressive materials on.
